About

I just think life is amazing.

In high school, working for the Organic Garden Cafe and holistic health counselor, Christine Lucas, I learned that food is powerful. Food can heal us from diabetes and cancer, to migraines and depression!?

Like. What!? I wanted to learn more, so I decided to study dietetics.

IMG_20170724_233119_249Double majoring in dietetics/nutrition/ fitness and health at Purdue University, I had my own monthly series of raw vegan food demonstrations. I taught fitness classes, wrote as the health/fitness columnist, started a vegetarian club, and gave talks at local grocery stores, got kale on the salad bar… you name it. I’m here to save the world!

After the combined grad school / dietetic internship program at Texas A&M, I became a registered dietitian and worked at Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s Health Oasis in Boca Raton, FL where I was able to control what my patients were eating, allowing them to break free from toxic food addictions, form new habits, and get off of their medications.

Today, I am expanding my practice to people like you.  I’m extremely passionate about life and hope to help others truly live it.  Are you dealing with health issues? Constantly wanting to diet? Feeling shame, guilt, and the thoughts of wanting eat something naughty consuming your brain?  I’ve been there. And I can help!  Please feel free to contact me at k.reines1@gmail.com. Food freedom is ours for the taking!

My prayer to you:

May you embody love, joy, gratitude, fulfillment, optimal health, and radiant energy, for ever, ever, and ever ❤

Hope to be in touch with you soon.

  3. Wow! You ROCK, Katie!! Double majors in dietetics and fitness, amazing. You inspire and are inspired!! … By the way my mother is a retired dietitian and she taught me alot about good nutrition just by her example. 🙂

  4. Yes, way! And I was very lucky, we lived in a junk food ban zone! Lol! … Thanks for enjoying my blog! This is way cool as I just in the past two days moved my blog from Blogger to here ~ tediously moving posts over! lol! And what a glorious welcome and response I’ve got! 😀

  5. Thanks for visiting my blog. Sorry my picture wasn’t up yet. I have to say am and not a Vegan but intrigued. I do love my veggies but it is a slow process (change I mean). I was brought up as a meet and potatoes guy. Now, I dabble in organic gardening. Best of luck.

  6. Hi there. You said you didn’t know much about tempeh. We produced Betsy’s Tempeh in Mich. for 9 1/2 years back in the mid 80’s selling our tempeh in both patty and grated form that our customers loved! Since retiring we set up a website showing our easy method for making tempeh at home with lovely visuals. More recently we filed a patent for a tempeh incubator that could be used in restaurants or small shops making artisan tempeh for the local community. Stay in touch for future development since we will begin testing the new appliance within the next week or so.

  7. I completely agree and LOVE your philosophy!! What an inspiration. It is amazing that you are pursuing so many avenues to create a holistic approach. I am working on certification in Stott Pilates and am taking a college nutrition class. I also grew up in an “alternative” household, although not of the doctor and foodie variety. Anyway, I hope to inspire people to be healthy through dance, fitness and food as well. I can’t wait to read more here. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  8. Thanks for following my blog. I’m so glad you did because I love yours! I am a vegetarian and gluten free for almost 2 years now, and agree with you about the power of nutritional choices and activity level being essential to our overall well being (“every cell in my body responds to every thought I think”-so true and a major reason why I practice yoga)…it’s inspiring to hear your story and how much you care about the career/lifestyle path you have chosen. I look forward to reading more and trying some of your recipes in the future.
